Caramel Coffee Eggnog

Caramel Coffee Eggnog

On the sixth day of Christmas my true love gave to me... Carmel Coffee Eggnog.

If you’re crazy enough to curl up in front of a fire during Australian christmas then you might as well get into the American spirit and have an eggnog while you’re at it. But here at Unexpected Guest we like to make things less boring so we’re adding some caffeine and making it sweater, think of this more like a gin flip than an egg nog. But let's get it so you can enjoy this truly different twist on an American classic.

Lots of goodies in this but they probably won't be in your pantry so get to the shops quick sticks!: Buttermilk: we’re using this instead of double cream, it's easier on your heart. Caramel Sauce: We used hershey’s cause we’re addicted to sugar, but if you want to go lower or higher up that price line you’ll still love this drink. Eggs: I mean it's an eggnog, so you’ve gotta get one. Coffee: You can use instant if you want, we put in a shot of coffee from a nespresso. Nutmeg: it’s to sprinkle over the top to make the drink ever so slightly more christmassy. Gin: Bobby’s London Dry is the perfect gin for this, it’s our creamiest of gin’s in flavour from our rich vanilla notes.

Cocktail Recipe:

This is a fun one, so get your chefs hat on and get to shaking.

Spiced Gin Ingredients:

  • 50ml Bobby’s London Dry
  • 50ml Coffee shot of espresso (You can make instant if you must)
  • 25ml Buttermilk
  • 10ml Caramel Sauce
  • 1 Whole Egg
  • Nutmeg

Spiced Gin Method:

  • Get your cocktail shaker and put your Bobby's London Dry Gin, buttermilk, caramel sauce, egg and coffee shot. Don't add ice… yet. Now shake it baby.
  • Once it’s mixed, now add some ice to cool down your drink and give it lots of froth. So shake it again with ice.
  • Strain into a chilled glass, add sprinkles to the rim if you like (we did it and it makes it very special).
  • Enjoy!
